Hulk and Black Panther join forces in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls introduces the Fighting Avengers team, including Hulk and Black Panther, at EVO Japan 2026. The game also unveils new stages and characters, with a focus on an impending threat from The Champion.
At EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo, Takeshi Yamanaka, the producer of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, announced the addition of a new team to the game: the Fighting Avengers. The team, which includes Captain America (voiced by Brian Bloom), Iron Man (voiced by Josh Keaton), Hulk (voiced by Fred Tatasciore), and Black Panther (voiced by Erica Luttrell), is set to tackle a new threat to Earth in the game’s Episode Mode.
In addition to the new team, a new stage set in Wakanda was also revealed. Wakanda, a technologically advanced nation in Africa, is traditionally protected by the Black Panther. The current ruler, Shuri, has taken on the mantle to defend her people.
Hulk, known for his immense strength and rage, finds himself exiled to the Savage Land due to his instability. Despite living in seclusion, his distrust of the Avengers remains. The character features a unique Gamma Gauge mechanic that, when filled, enhances his power significantly, allowing for devastating attacks.
Shuri, as the new Black Panther, grapples with her dual role as a leader and a warrior. Her combat style is characterized by agility and precision, utilizing the Spear of Bashenga and a special mobility skill called Bast’s Blessing, which allows for high-speed movement and flexible combat strategies.
The latest trailer also introduced a new antagonist, The Champion, one of the Elders of the Universe. Obsessed with hand-to-hand combat, he holds the “Challenge of the Champion” tournament, threatening the destruction of planets if his thirst for battle is not satisfied. Earth is his next target, and the Fighting Avengers are among the contenders in this tournament.
Following the demo at EVO Japan, the game will be showcased at Combo Breaker 2026 in Chicago and Hong Kong Comic Con 2026. The new build will feature Black Panther and the Wakanda stage, among others. The development team is in the final stages of preparation, aiming to deliver an exceptional gaming experience upon launch.
