Samsung and Google have unveiled new intelligent eyewear at Google I/O 2026, featuring designs from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The eyewear integrates AI technology with stylish design, offering hands-free connectivity.

In a joint presentation at Google I/O 2026, Samsung Electronics and Google have introduced a new line of intelligent eyewear, offering a glimpse into two premium styles developed in collaboration with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. These innovative devices are designed to function as an extension of a mobile phone, allowing users to engage in voice interactions and maintain connectivity without the need for constant phone handling.

The eyewear, co-developed with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, integrates cutting-edge AI technology with elegant design, drawing on Samsung’s expertise in hardware and Google’s advancements in AI. Gentle Monster’s designs are known for their bold and refined aesthetics, while Warby Parker offers a more classic and timeless look, providing consumers with diverse stylistic options.

These smart glasses are engineered to assist users in real-time, enabling hands-free operation and heads-up engagement. Features include voice-activated navigation assistance, personalized recommendations such as nearby coffee shops, and the ability to place orders for pickup. Notifications for important messages can be summarized, and users can add events to their calendars with ease. Additionally, the eyewear offers real-time translations with audio that mimics the speaker’s voice, and can translate text on signs or menus that the user sees. Seamlessly integrated with the Galaxy ecosystem, these devices allow users to manage daily tasks and capture photos effortlessly.

Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, commented, “This intelligent eyewear marks an important step in Samsung’s vision for AI. With this new AI form factor, we are further expanding the Galaxy device ecosystem, where each device is optimized to deliver unique AI experiences that best fit each form.”

Shahram Izadi, Vice President and GM of Android XR at Google, emphasized the collaboration’s impact, stating, “Intelligent eyewear represents a powerful step forward in our shared vision with Samsung to make AI more helpful and accessible in everyday life.”

Hankook Kim, Founder and CEO of Gentle Monster, and Dave Gilboa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Warby Parker, both highlighted the importance of merging fashion with technology to create eyewear that is both expressive and technologically advanced.

The first collections of these intelligent eyewear pieces are expected to be available this fall in select markets, with further details to be disclosed in the coming months. Availability and features may vary by market, and product specifications are subject to change.
