Samsung unveils groundbreaking Odyssey gaming and ViewFinity monitors

Samsung Electronics has officially launched its latest range of Odyssey gaming monitors and the ViewFinity S8 series, setting new standards in display resolution and performance for gaming and professional use.

Leading the new lineup are three Odyssey G8 models, highlighted by the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, alongside the Odyssey G7, which expands Samsung’s OLED technology to a broader audience. This 2026 Odyssey collection underscores Samsung’s dominance in high-performance gaming displays while broadening access to advanced innovations.

This release coincides with Samsung’s sustained leadership in the global gaming monitor market, where it commands an 18.9% revenue share. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung has also maintained its top position in the OLED gaming monitor market for the third year in a row, holding a 26% share.

Odyssey G8: A new benchmark for high-performance gaming

The Odyssey G8 series introduces three cutting-edge models designed for high-performance gaming experiences. The 32-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HS model) is the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor, advancing beyond the 4K standard. It offers exceptional visual clarity and detail, enhancing immersion and providing more screen space for gaming and multitasking. The monitor supports a 165Hz refresh rate at 6K and up to 330Hz at 3K resolution through Dual Mode.

The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80HF model) provides flexible performance, supporting 5K resolution at 180Hz or up to 360Hz in QHD via Dual Mode, catering to both immersive and competitive gaming needs.

The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH model), available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, features a 4K OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. Glare Free technology reduces glare without compromising picture quality. Connectivity options include USB-C with up to 98W charging, supporting high-performance setups. The model also incorporates QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, enhancing efficiency, durability, and brightness. The 32-inch version has received VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.

The lineup supports DisplayPort 2.11 for high-bandwidth visuals and includes AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technology for smooth, tear-free gameplay. HDR10+ GAMING optimizes brightness and contrast in real-time.

Odyssey G7: Widening OLED gaming access

The 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH model) expands Samsung’s OLED gaming range, offering premium visual performance to more users. It features 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, with Dual Mode allowing up to 330Hz in FHD. A 0.03ms response time ensures responsive performance in competitive gaming.

ViewFinity S8: High-resolution for professional workflows

The ViewFinity S8 series is tailored for modern professional environments, combining high-resolution clarity with advanced connectivity and ergonomic design. The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 (S85TH model) offers a curved WUHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate for multitasking and complex workflows. Thunderbolt 5 supports high-resolution video and data-intensive tasks with 80 Gbps transfer speeds and 140W charging.

The 27-inch ViewFinity S8 (S80HF model) offers 5K resolution and USB-C connectivity, designed for long-term comfort and high-resolution performance.
