Amazon Quick introduces co-owner support for SharePoint and Google Drive integrations
Amazon Quick now allows co-owners for knowledge bases and data source connections in admin-managed SharePoint and Google Drive integrations, enhancing team collaboration and connection reuse.
Amazon Quick has expanded its capabilities by allowing the addition of co-owners to knowledge bases and data source connections for admin-managed Microsoft SharePoint Online and Google Drive integrations. This update facilitates enhanced collaboration across teams and streamlines the reuse of existing connections without the need for re-entering credentials.
With this enhancement, knowledge base owners can assign two distinct roles: Owner, which grants full management access including editing, syncing, sharing, and deleting, and Viewer, which permits query-only access. The option to designate co-owners with the Owner role is exclusively available for admin-managed SharePoint and Google Drive knowledge bases. In contrast, other types of knowledge bases only support Viewer sharing. Users can share knowledge bases by navigating to the actions menu next to a knowledge base or by using the Permissions tab.
Additionally, administrators are now able to share data source connections, empowering other users to create knowledge bases using the same connection. Data source sharing offers two roles: Owner, which allows for the creation of knowledge bases and editing connection details, and Viewer, which permits the creation of knowledge bases only. To share a data source, users should go to Manage account > Manage assets > Data sources and select the desired connection to share.
This feature is accessible in all AWS Regions where Amazon Quick is operational. For detailed information, users are encouraged to consult the Knowledge Base Sharing section in the Amazon Quick User Guide. Currently, Amazon Quick is available in several regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), and Europe (Ireland). Further details are available on the Amazon Quick webpage.
