The highly anticipated game, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, is set to release on the PlayStation 5 on June 18, 2026. This action RPG invites players to embark on a journey through time with protagonists Elliot and Faie. The game begins with the duo traveling through a Doorway of Time, transporting them 250 years into the past to the Age of Reconstruction.

In this era, the players will encounter the village of Littlehope, where inhabitants strive to survive with limited resources. The setting, reminiscent yet distinct from their home in the Era of Safekeeping, provides a backdrop rich with exploration opportunities. A major highlight in the game is the Doorway Ruins, located in Philabieldia’s eastern region. This dungeon offers a variety of challenges, including platforming, puzzles, and combat against beastmen, alongside treasures to discover.

Players can acquire a new sword for Elliot within the ruins, essential for battling the dungeon’s bosses, the Tag Guardians. These include the Greatsword Guardian, known for its swift and extensive attacks, and the Great Bow Guardian, adept at long-range assaults. Elliot’s versatility is showcased through his access to seven weapon types, allowing players to tailor their combat strategy. Faie supports with her magic, providing tactical advantages and aiding in quick escapes.

The game also features the Shrine of the Mystic, where Faie can gain the Warp ability, enabling Elliot to teleport to her location, useful for puzzle-solving and combat. Beyond these main quests, players can engage in side activities like cat collecting, which involves gathering cats for rewards from a traveler.

In addition to the main storyline, the game offers minigames such as Faie’s Magic Lessons. These include a sprint minigame where players race down a mountain pursued by an avalanche, providing a chance to unlock in-game soundtrack records.

In a Q&A with the development team, Tomoya Asano and Naofumi Matsushita discussed the decision to develop an action RPG and the challenges of incorporating HD-2D visuals into the gameplay.
