Amazon WorkSpaces introduces support for Microsoft Windows Server 2025

AWS has introduced new bundles featuring Microsoft Windows Server 2025 for Amazon WorkSpaces, offering enhanced security and modern capabilities to users.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the release of new bundles that feature Microsoft Windows Server 2025 for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Amazon WorkSpaces Core. With these new bundles, customers can now deploy WorkSpaces powered by Windows Server 2025, benefiting from the latest features of the Windows server operating system. This update allows users to run applications, including eligible Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, that require the most recent Windows versions.

Although the existing WorkSpaces bundles powered by Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 will continue to be available, the addition of Windows Server 2025 introduces improved security and modern functionalities. These enhancements include Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM 2.0), Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Secure Boot, Secured-core server, Credential Guard, Hypervisor-protected Code Integrity (HVCI), and DNS-over-HTTPS.

Users have the option to start with the managed Windows Server 2025 WorkSpaces bundles or create custom bundles and images that are tailored to their specific needs.
