AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery launches in the European Sovereign Cloud
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery is now accessible in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, allowing organizations to protect critical workloads with enhanced disaster recovery capabilities.
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) has been launched in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, providing organizations with data sovereignty requirements the ability to safeguard their critical workloads through disaster recovery on AWS. AWS DRS aims to reduce downtime and data loss by offering swift and dependable recovery of both on-premises and cloud-based applications. It utilizes cost-effective storage, minimal computing resources, and point-in-time recovery, achieving Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) within seconds and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) typically within minutes.
Organizations can use AWS DRS to recover applications from various infrastructures, including physical infrastructure, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud environments. AWS DRS employs a unified approach for testing, recovery, and failback across a broad spectrum of applications, encompassing critical databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server, as well as enterprise applications like SAP.
The service is now accessible in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, specifically located in Germany. For the most up-to-date information on service availability, users are encouraged to consult the AWS Regional Services List. Additional details about AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery can be found on the product page or through the official documentation.
