Google Play Store and Services Add New Discovery and Access Features
Google has enhanced the Play Store and Play services with new features aimed at improving app discovery and user engagement. One key addition is the ability for users to follow specific topics—for example, photography, fitness, or education—and receive curated app recommendations based on those interests right on the Play Store homepage.
App pages have become richer with developer videos, providing deeper insights and tutorials before users install an app. These videos help users better understand an app’s functionality and interface, lowering the barrier for adoption.
Google has also introduced image galleries on app pages that allow users to preview various app screens, giving a more interactive and immersive browsing experience.
Moreover, users can now find and purchase connected hardware (like earbuds or smart home devices) seamlessly within the Play Store, alongside apps and games. Wear OS users benefit from improved Tiles access, with the option to add app shortcuts directly from the store, enhancing watch usability.
These updates aim to make app discovery more personalized and the overall Play ecosystem more integrated and user-friendly.
