Samsung Electronics reported record-breaking financial results for the first quarter of 2026, with significant increases in both revenue and operating profit. The company’s divisions saw growth driven by technological advancements and strategic product launches.
Samsung Electronics has announced its financial results for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, reporting record-breaking figures in both revenue and operating profit. The company achieved consolidated revenue of KRW 133.9 trillion, marking a 43% increase from the previous quarter. Operating profit also reached an unprecedented high of KRW 57.2 trillion.
The Device Solutions (DS) Division experienced a significant sales increase of 86% quarter-on-quarter, driven by the Memory Business’s technological advancements and higher average selling prices. Meanwhile, the Device eXperience (DX) Division saw a 19% increase in sales, bolstered by new flagship smartphone launches and strategic emphasis on high-value products to maintain profitability despite rising costs.
The DS Division reported KRW 81.7 trillion in revenue and KRW 53.7 trillion in operating profit for the quarter. The Memory Business achieved record sales by meeting high-value AI demands and benefiting from industry-wide price increases. The business also led the market with innovations such as the launch of HBM4 and SOCAMM2 for NVIDIA’s platform and the development of PCIe Gen6 SSDs.
Looking ahead, the Memory Business expects continued strong demand due to AI infrastructure expansion and plans to deliver HBM4E samples to strengthen its technical leadership. It aims to capitalize on early demand for new GPUs and CPUs and maintain its AI product-centric sales strategy.
Samsung Display Corporation (SDC) reported KRW 6.7 trillion in revenue and KRW 0.4 trillion in operating profit. The small and medium display sector faced challenges due to seasonal effects and rising memory prices, while the large display sector sustained sales through demand for OLED gaming monitors.
The MX and Networks Businesses achieved KRW 38.1 trillion in revenue and KRW 2.8 trillion in operating profit, driven by a premium product mix and cost optimization. The MX Business plans to focus on flagship sales and new A-series devices to drive year-on-year revenue growth.
The Visual Display and Digital Appliances Businesses posted KRW 14.3 trillion in revenue and KRW 0.2 trillion in operating profit. The VD Business aims to boost revenue by targeting demand from sporting events and enhancing AI features in TVs.
Harman experienced a decline in earnings due to increased expenses, but anticipates growth in the next quarter through increased automotive supply and premium audio sales.
