Li Auto Introduces Li i8: All‑Electric Six‑Seat SUV (China)

Li Auto has launched the Li i8, an electric six-seater SUV built on its proprietary high‑voltage BEV platform, with deliveries starting August 20, 2025. Available in three trims—Pro (RMB 321,800), Max (RMB 349,800), and Ultra (RMB 369,800)—the Li i8 competes in the premium BEV space, blending space, performance, and efficiency.

The vehicle offers Li’s in-house electric drive system, featuring silicon carbide power modules and optimized rotor–stator motor design, achieving industry‑leading cabin silence and energy efficiency. Li Auto also operates its own motor factory to enforce end‑to‑end integration of its electric architecture.

The Li i8 targets families needing spacious electric SUVs, with emphasis on long-distance comfort and fast charging via its proprietary 5C super‑charging network. Unlike competitors relying on outsourced EV architectures, Li’s vertically integrated design—including battery, motor, and cooling systems—reinforces consistent quality control across production.

This launch underscores Li’s aggressive push to solidify leadership in China’s premium EV segment, directly addressing rivals such as BYD, Nio, and XPeng. With SUV demand surging in China, Li i8’s blend of performance and integrated technology positions it as a strong contender in summer 2025.
