AWS announces changes to service availability and support

AWS has announced changes to service availability, with some services moving to maintenance and others entering a sunset phase. Comprehensive migration guides are available for affected customers.

AWS has announced upcoming changes to the availability and support of several of its services and features. From April 30, 2026, certain services will move to a maintenance phase, meaning they will no longer be accessible to new customers. However, existing users will still have access, and AWS will maintain and support these services. Customers are encouraged to review the product pages and documentation to understand these changes fully.

The services transitioning to maintenance include the Amazon Application Recovery Controller (ARC) – Readiness Check Feature, Amazon Comprehend’s Topic Modeling, Event Detection, and Prompt Safety Classification Features, Amazon Rekognition’s Streaming Events and Batch Image Content Moderation Features, Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) – Message Data Protection (MDP) Feature, AWS App Runner, AWS Audit Manager, AWS CloudTrail Lake, AWS Glue’s Ray Jobs Feature, and AWS IoT FleetWise.

Several services are entering a sunset phase, with AWS announcing the end of operations and support dates for these services. Customers using these services are advised to review the updated service web pages and documentation to understand the sunset timeline and plan their migration to alternative solutions. The services affected include Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle, Amazon WorkMail, Amazon WorkSpaces Thin Client, and AWS Service Management Connector.

Furthermore, AWS has announced that the Amazon Chime SDK – Proxy Sessions feature has reached the end of support and is no longer available as of March 31, 2026.

AWS has provided comprehensive migration guides for customers impacted by these changes, and its support teams are available to assist with the transition. Customers are encouraged to visit the AWS Product Lifecycle Page for more information and subscribe to the RSS feed for future updates.
