Death Stranding 2 unveils new PC and PS5 features ahead of release
Death Stranding 2 is set to release on PC with new features for both PC and PS5 versions, including a challenging new mode and enhanced graphical options.
With just 48 hours remaining until the release of Death Stranding 2 on PC, Kojima Productions has announced new features for both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Jay Boor from Kojima Productions revealed that a new launch trailer, edited by Hideo Kojima himself, will showcase these updates.
Death Stranding 2, a standalone sequel to the original game, follows protagonist Sam on a new journey to connect Mexico and Australia to the Chiral network, in an effort to once again save humanity from extinction. The game features a star-studded cast including Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Elle Fanning, among others.
New features include the challenging “to the wilder” mode, exclusive to the PC version, which tests players’ skills in harsh environments filled with formidable enemies. Additionally, a new training area called “Trapped in a Strange Realm” allows players to unlock new fieldware, such as bandanas, by reliving Sam’s epic confrontations.
Both PC and PS5 players can expect visits from the Chiral Feline in the private room aboard the DHV Magellan, as well as new additions to the Photo Mode. The PS5 version will receive all the content additions simultaneously with the PC release.
Exclusive to the PC version, thanks to Nixxes Software, are integrations with Nvidia’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR, and Intel’s XeSS, as well as customizable graphical settings and uncapped frame rates. Players with high-end hardware can also enable Ray Tracing for enhanced reflections and ambient lighting effects, though this is not required for the core experience.
Moreover, connecting accounts will unlock unique in-game patches and an exclusive suit inspired by the PlayStation logo. PS5 players will receive additional bonuses coinciding with the PC launch.
Death Stranding 2 is available in Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions, with the latter offering additional in-game items. Pre-purchasing the PC version within the next 48 hours will provide players with further bonuses.
Kojima Productions extends its gratitude to PlayStation and Nixxes for their collaboration, and to the community of players for their ongoing support. For more information, visit the game’s official page.
