Samsung secures TÜV Rheinland certifications for 2026 product lineup
Samsung Electronics has earned TÜV Rheinland certifications for 34 models in its 2026 TV and soundbar lineup, reflecting efforts to reduce carbon emissions in its premium products.
Samsung Electronics has announced that 34 models from its 2026 television and soundbar range have been awarded Product Carbon Reduction and Product Carbon Footprint certifications by TÜV Rheinland, a respected certification authority based in Germany. This milestone underscores Samsung’s ongoing efforts to lower carbon emissions across its high-end products.
“As a global leader in premium displays and audio, Samsung views sustainability as a crucial aspect of innovation,” stated Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are dedicated to minimizing carbon emissions in our products, ensuring consumers can enjoy advanced technology without compromising on environmental responsibility.”
The Product Carbon Reduction certification has been bestowed upon 14 high-end display and audio models, such as the 2026 OLED TVs, The Frame Pro, and the flagship HW-Q990H soundbar. Furthermore, 20 additional products, including Micro RGB and Mini LED TVs, have achieved the Product Carbon Footprint certification.
TÜV Rheinland awards the Product Carbon Footprint certification to products that adhere to international standards for assessing greenhouse gas emissions throughout their entire lifecycle, covering manufacturing, transportation, usage, and disposal. Meanwhile, the Product Carbon Reduction certification is designated for products that have already received the Product Carbon Footprint certification and exhibit a significant reduction in carbon emissions compared to previous models. Notably, the HW-Q990H has been recognized with both certifications, highlighting Samsung’s commitment to sustainability beyond just televisions.
In 2021, Samsung’s Neo QLED became the first television with 4K resolution or higher to receive the Product Carbon Reduction certification. Since then, the company has broadened its array of certified products, including QLED, OLED, Lifestyle TVs, monitors, and signage.
These initiatives also emphasize Samsung’s broader leadership in the premium display and audio markets, maintaining its position as the global TV market leader for 20 years and the top soundbar brand worldwide for 12 years.
