Microsoft Expands AI Data Centre Footprint Across Europe
Microsoft announced further expansion of its European data centre network to support rising AI workloads across Azure. The company confirmed new facilities in Germany, France, and Spain, alongside capacity upgrades at existing locations.
The expansion is aimed at supporting enterprise demand for AI services, including model hosting, training, and enterprise copilots. Microsoft stated that the facilities will comply with regional data residency requirements and sustainability standards.
The announcement follows a series of infrastructure investments tied to Microsoft’s long-term AI roadmap. Construction timelines were not disclosed, though deployment is expected to begin within the next 12 months.
