This development allows users in the region to experience reduced latency and enhanced application performance, while also adhering to local data residency laws. The new regional offering includes the full suite of Lightsail’s features, such as a variety of instances tailored to different computing needs, ranging from general purpose to compute-optimized and memory-optimized bundles. Additionally, customers can leverage managed databases, containers, and load balancers, all with straightforward and predictable pricing.
With this expansion, Lightsail is now available across multiple AWS Regions, including US East (Ohio, N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central), and several locations in Europe like Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris, and Stockholm. In the Asia Pacific, the service is offered in Malaysia, Jakarta, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
