Amazon OpenSearch Service enhances access to cluster insights via console and EventBridge

Amazon OpenSearch Service now allows access to Cluster Insights via the AWS Management Console and Amazon EventBridge, facilitating easier performance reviews and configuration changes.

Amazon OpenSearch Service has broadened access to its Cluster Insights through the AWS Management Console, complementing the existing OpenSearch UI Dashboards. This enhancement aims to simplify the process of reviewing performance and resilience recommendations, enabling users to make necessary configuration adjustments directly within the Console. Additionally, Cluster Insights now disseminates insights as events to Amazon EventBridge.

The Cluster Insights feature offers curated information regarding a cluster’s operational health, accompanied by actionable recommendations designed to mitigate potential issues before they impact the cluster’s stability or performance. Users can still leverage the OpenSearch UI Dashboards for more detailed metrics, such as index and shard-level data, as well as top-N query analysis. With this update, insights can also be monitored through events in Amazon EventBridge.

Cluster Insights is available at no extra cost for OpenSearch versions 2.17 and later across all regions where the OpenSearch Service is offered. A comprehensive list of supported regions can be found online. For further information about Cluster Insights, users are encouraged to consult the technical documentation.
