Samsung’s latest design achievements at Red Dot Design Award 2026

Samsung Electronics has been recognized at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 for its innovative design approach, with all 16 entries receiving accolades. The Bespoke AI Laundry appliances were notably awarded Best of the Best, highlighting their integration into home aesthetics.

Samsung Electronics has achieved a significant milestone with its innovative design approach, “Expressive Design,” by receiving recognition for all 16 of its entries at the esteemed Red Dot Design Award 2026. Among these, the Bespoke AI Laundry appliances were distinguished with the prestigious Best of the Best award, showcasing how home appliances can transform into design elements that enhance the aesthetics of living spaces.

In an interview with Samsung Newsroom, designers from the Digital Appliances (DA) Business discussed the evolution of home appliance design and its importance. The Bespoke AI Laundry appliances exemplify how such devices can seamlessly integrate into users’ living environments. This is achieved through a uni-body design that applies to separate washer and dryer units, vertically integrated models, and all-in-one combo appliances, promoting a unified design language.

Jinsun Park, from the Living Design Group at DA Business, explained that Samsung’s mono-body design concept is a strategic move to establish a consistent brand identity across appliances. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also aligns with Samsung’s ESG vision by improving repairability and extending product lifespan.

The Bespoke AI Combo was designed for users with limited space, necessitating the inclusion of a standalone dryer’s performance within a compact form. The design process involved close collaboration with the engineering team to optimize component placement and assembly, enhancing the product’s functionality while maintaining a seamless appearance.

Yunkyung Kang, from the UX Design Group, highlighted the importance of balancing information and simplicity in the design of the 7-inch full-touch display. The goal was to create an intuitive user experience by using visual elements like images and animations to convey the product’s status.

Sungjun Kim from the CMF Design Group discussed the implementation of sustainable technologies such as No Spray, which reduces waste and energy consumption by utilizing film-laminated and coil-coated metal processes. This not only streamlines production but also ensures a more eco-friendly approach.

Beyond its innovative design and usability, the Bespoke AI Laundry appliances emphasize sustainable production, reflecting Samsung’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The company’s ongoing dedication to integrating AI and design innovation aims to ease household chores while harmonizing functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.

In addition to the Bespoke AI Laundry series, the OLED TV S95H also received the Best of the Best award. Fourteen other products were recognized, including the Music Studio 5, Bespoke AI Refrigerator Family Hub, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Portable SSD T7 Resurrected, among others.
