Starfield set to launch on PlayStation 5 on April 7

Starfield is launching on PlayStation 5 on April 7, alongside its largest free update, Free Lanes, and the new Terran Armada DLC, offering enhanced gameplay and customization options.

Starfield is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 5 on April 7, opening up the Settled Systems to a new audience of explorers. Concurrently, the game will debut its most significant free update, Free Lanes, alongside the brand-new Terran Armada story DLC, accessible across all platforms. This version of Starfield, crafted with dedication by Bethesda Game Studios and its community, promises a larger, more immersive experience with numerous gameplay options.

The PlayStation 5 release will leverage the DualSense controller’s features, enhancing every battle and flight sequence. Adaptive triggers will vary based on weaponry, including starship loadouts, while the light bar will monitor health and ship status. The touchpad will provide quick access to first- and third-person views, maps, and hand scanners. Additionally, audio logs and non-local ship communications will play through the controller speaker, heightening immersion. For PlayStation 5 Pro users, the game offers a Visual mode at 4K resolution and 30 fps, and a Performance mode with enhanced visuals at 60 fps.

The Free Lanes update, available to all players, emphasizes exploration, customization, and seamless gameplay. It introduces expanded space travel within star systems, more frequent and diverse space encounters, and a new resource for greater control over gear and ship customization. Players will also find new options for upgrading Starborn abilities and transferring preferred gear to New Game+.

In the new Terran Armada DLC, players will confront the Terran Armada, a force intent on imposing “unity” across the Settled Systems with advanced robots and formidable weaponry. The DLC features the Incursion system, new technology, a companion, and valuable rewards. It can be purchased separately or as part of the Premium Edition.

Additionally, the Trackers Alliance bounty arc will be available from launch, offering a series of seven unique targets through the Creations menu. Each bounty presents a self-contained narrative filled with challenging decisions and pursuits throughout the Settled Systems.

Mark your calendars for April 7, as Starfield invites players to explore the Settled Systems on PlayStation 5.
