Turning travel moments into lasting memories: San Francisco with Galaxy S26 Ultra
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra enhances smartphone photography with its advanced camera features. The device captures San Francisco’s diverse scenery in stunning detail, from ocean views to nighttime cityscapes.
In the modern era, smartphone cameras have become indispensable tools for capturing life’s moments. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra takes this experience to the next level with its enhanced performance and intuitive AI features, enabling users to capture and edit images with professional-level quality.
Following the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in San Francisco, Samsung Newsroom explored the capabilities of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera, showcasing the city’s diverse and unique atmosphere.
Sharp detail at any distance
Pier 39, a renowned landmark in San Francisco, offers picturesque views of the ocean. With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, even distant sights such as Alcatraz Island appear crisp and detailed, an achievement typically requiring proximity via boat.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is equipped with a 200MP wide-angle camera and a 50MP telephoto camera featuring a 10x optical zoom. This setup provides exceptional detail, especially when images are enlarged. The camera’s wider F1.4 aperture captures more light than previous models, resulting in richer textures and finer details. Even when zooming in or cropping, the images remain sharp.
The device also excels in video recording. When capturing the sea lions at Pier 39 in 8K, even distant landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge remain clear and detailed when zoomed in.
Stable video in motion
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first Galaxy device to support the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec, a format that maintains detail even after multiple edits.
Super Steady technology ensures stable footage when filming in crowded areas or while moving. The new horizontal lock option keeps the frame level in motion-heavy situations.

Testing the feature at a nearby theme park, the horizontal lock option provided a stable horizon when panning side to side. The footage with this option on was noticeably more stable compared to when it was off.
Clear, vivid nights
As night falls, San Francisco’s streets transform. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s enhanced Nightography feature captures the city’s iconic cable cars in motion against the night backdrop.

A wider aperture and the improved ProVisual Engine reduce noise in low-light conditions while preserving the ambiance of nighttime scenes. Moving cable cars and the night sky appear natural, capturing the city’s nocturnal charm in vivid detail.
From the ocean views and bustling streets to the nighttime cityscape, the Galaxy S26 Ultra captures San Francisco in stunning detail, creating lasting travel memories.
In the next installment of this series, Samsung Newsroom will delve into the AI features of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which extend the user experience beyond capturing images to making everyday moments even more meaningful.
