Peni Parker unveiled for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has announced the “Amazing Guardians” team, featuring Spider-Man and Peni Parker, among others. A new demo will be available at EVO Japan 2026.
The producer of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Takeshi Yamanaka, has announced the inclusion of the “Amazing Guardians” team in the upcoming game. This revelation was made during the Arc World Tour 2025–2026 Finals held in Korea. The newly introduced team comprises a new generation of heroes, including Spider-Man (voiced by Josh Keaton), Ms. Marvel (voiced by Dalia Rooni), Star-Lord (voiced by Scott Porter), and Peni Parker (voiced by Risa Mei). These characters will feature in the game’s Episode Mode, where players can explore their collaborative efforts and challenges in battling an impending threat.
Peni Parker is highlighted as a new playable character. As a Japanese-American student, Peni is portrayed as an inventive young scientist who operates SP//dr, a powerful mech suit originally designed by her father. Her character adds a unique dimension to the game with her ability to alternate between English and Japanese, enhancing the authenticity of her portrayal across various language voiceovers. In the game, she utilizes SP//dr to engage in combat, employing a diverse array of gadgets and tools to develop strategies dynamically.
The trailer also introduces a mysterious figure known as the Promoter, whose real name is Xirena Awhina (voiced by Sabrina Fest). Xirena is an Elder of the Universe, a race of ancient aliens. She organizes a high-stakes tournament that will decide the fate of Earth, inviting heroes and villains alike to participate.
A new feature, Automatic Team Name Generation, has been added to the game, allowing players to create four-character teams with names inspired by Marvel lore. Additionally, feedback from previous Closed Beta tests has led to several game improvements, with detailed patch notes available on the Discord Server.
The latest game demo, which includes Peni Parker as a playable character and the Knowhere battle stage, will be available for players to experience at EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo from May 1-3. This event will showcase 12 playable characters and four stages, providing attendees the opportunity to explore the game’s new features and updates.
