Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game introduces elemental bending dynamics

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, set for release on July 2, introduces players to a competitive experience where they can control characters inspired by the Avatar universe. The game features 12 fighters, each with distinct bending styles and strategic options.

Have you ever imagined how you would engage in combat if you could manipulate an element, or perhaps even all elements? Last October, during the New York Comic-Con 2025, the unveiling of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game offered fans a chance to experience the bending arts of the Avatar universe firsthand.

Gameplay Group International is thrilled to announce its collaboration with PM Studios for the publication of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. PM Studios, known for its expertise in game development, distribution, and publishing, adds this title to its impressive repertoire of successful games and franchises. The game is set for a worldwide release on July 2, with promises of delivering an exhilarating experience to players globally.

The game will be available at a price of $29.99 for the Standard Edition. Upon its release, players will have access to a roster of 12 fighters, each uniquely inspired by the bending techniques and characters of the Avatar universe.

Each character’s bending style is effectively translated into the game’s format, offering distinct and vibrant expressions even among shared elements. Players can customize their combat strategies by choosing from three support characters associated with each fighter, unlocking enhanced abilities and strategic options tailored to their play style.

The combat system is anchored by the Flow Mechanic, allowing players to execute dodges, evade projectiles, leap into the air, or seamlessly transition into character-specific abilities with a single input. Each fighter boasts unique Flow options, promoting fluid and creative movement that mirrors the agility and spectacle of the series.

Among the bending styles, Azula’s is particularly noteworthy. Known for her ruthless, unpredictable nature, and precision, Azula’s blue flame and lightning attacks embody her relentless pursuit of power. In the game, Azula excels in aerial mobility, using fire attacks to control the battlefield from above.

Azula’s gameplay is defined by two contrasting modes. In Focused Mode, she employs calculated tactics, setting traps and controlling space with precision. Her abilities include ignitable oil traps and grounded fireballs, showcasing her strategic prowess. In Firelord Mode, she unleashes chaotic power, with attacks gaining strength and her movements becoming erratic, transforming her abilities into overwhelming offensive forces.

Not all characters rely on bending, however. Sokka, a key member of Team Avatar from the Southern Water Tribe, stands out with his reliance on wit and weaponry. Known for his sarcasm and strategic mind, Sokka’s gameplay emphasizes creativity and improvisation. He utilizes a club, Meteorite Sword, and boomerang to disrupt opponents with unexpected moves, relying on timing and mobility rather than elemental power.

Characters like Azula and Sokka demonstrate the diverse combat approaches available in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. The Standard Edition will be available for $29.99, and players are encouraged to explore the unique bending styles. Wishlist the game on PlayStation 5 to receive updates as the launch date approaches.
