Samsung Electronics has unveiled a significant software update for its Galaxy XR, enhancing both enterprise capabilities and the everyday user experience. This update incorporates Android Enterprise, promising regular software updates, including security patches, for up to five years, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to long-term performance and innovation on the XR platform that debuted in October 2025.

Enhancements in Enterprise Functionality

The Galaxy XR now supports Android Enterprise, extending the trusted management framework used by millions of Android devices into immersive environments. This advancement is set to offer enterprise-grade control and efficiency, laying a scalable foundation for deployments in sectors such as training, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail. With Samsung Knox on Android Enterprise, the update ensures robust device security. Key features include:

  • Support for fully managed and dedicated device use cases, providing organizations with greater control over Galaxy XR devices in corporate environments.
  • Device enrollment methods like Android zero-touch, QR code setup, and Device Policy Controller (DPC) identifier provisioning, facilitating large-scale deployments from the outset.
  • Enterprise app management through Managed Google Play and support for direct installation, simplifying the deployment and updating of XR applications.
  • Core device management features such as setting password policies, network configurations, device restrictions, and remote lock or wipe capabilities to protect devices in various environments.
  • Hardware-level protections to meet compliance and security standards for safeguarding sensitive enterprise data.

  • Desktop session restore, which reopens up to three previously used apps in their original layout after rebooting.
  • Expanded accessibility features like single eye tracking and pointer customization, increasing inclusivity for users with varying sight or mobility needs.
  • Wall panel alignment, an on-screen guide for accurately integrating content into physical surroundings.
  • Auto Spatialization in Google Chrome and YouTube, converting 2D content into immersive 3D photos and videos.
